We provide building code consulting services in BC, specializing in Certified Professional services in the City of Vancouver. We are specialist consultants focused on interpreting the building code for our clients and guiding them through the process of obtaining building and occupancy permits.
Our approach is based on first principles. We take the time to understand the intent and objectives of the building code within the context of each project and then, working with design teams, we draw on our experience and expertise to balance the need for innovation with Fire, Life Safety, and Health aspects of the code. At the preliminary stage of design, we consider the requirements of the building code in a practical way, attempting to minimize complexity and deviations requiring alternative solutions. Where the design dictates that a code conforming solution is impractical, we will engage with the Authority Having Jurisdiction to gain approval of an alternative solution.
